Dell OEM Systems Engineer - Bay Area in California

RESPONSIBILITIES At this level, supports complex accounts Gains access and manages relationships with engineering and development teams to understand their application workloads in order to position the relevant Dell Technologies solutions (from the entire portfolio - servers, storage, networking, software and client).

Understands and articulates strengths and vulnerabilities of the competition Consults with other sales engineers, leaders, or cross-functional technical groups to ensure consistent approach/application in complex accounts Intermediate level sales engineer with in-depth understanding of our product and services portfolio Qualifies complex sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding Presents the design and value of proposed solution and business case to customers, prospects and management at a senior level Understands and articulates third-party and/or Channel’s role to create and position our solution

The OEM Sales Engineer (SE) is a consultative technical sales role. You will be work independently, and in partnership with the account team, to win new designs on Dell’s enterprise servers, storage, software, and networking solutions, as appropriate for our customers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

  • Strong demonstrated hands on skills in three or more of:

  • server, storage, networking, enterprise software, AI, data science cloud technologies/DevOps

  • Must have B.S in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or comparable field of study, candidates with Masters in these fields preferred

  • If M.S. degree then minimum 5 years of experience in a technology role, including solution selling or software and hardware development

  • If B.S. degree then minimum 10 years of experience in a technology role, including solution selling or software& hardware development

  • Present Dell enterprise solutions from a technical and business perspective

  • Analyze client needs and design/scope solutions accordingly

  • Experienced with the application of strategic frameworks and execution of strategic analysis

  • Experienced in the analysis of complex customer technical sales requirements to create innovative solution proposals that meet both customer and Dell objectives

  • Applies thought leadership to solve problems that are without precedent

  • Work with Dell’s product group to develop future products and/or solutions that enhance Dell’s ability to deliver outstanding products and services to client

  • Act as primary point of escalation of technical issues for the Sales team in which you support

  • Provide training and guidance to Sales department

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for servers, storage, networking or enterprise software to all teams within Dell

  • Extensive travel required, position is remote home based,
