It takes someone special to support the IMS project and program manager (PPM) community and lead large programs that support IMS priorities. The mission of the IMS Global Program Management Office is to build a world class PPM community and enable an increase in maturity across the community. The GPMO also program manages large, complex initiatives to enable leadership’s business priorities.
A leader of project and program managers (PPM) in the areas of methodology, standards, consistency and PM maturity within IMS.
Set an example of professional, top-notch PPM to the IMS community.
Responsible for the strategic direction of our PPM community.
Ensure PPM community is up-to-date on trends and training (via webinars, blogs, etc.)
Continue increasing PPM community knowledge of PPM standards, agile, soft skills, etc.
Assemble PPM community demographics and adapt to the community’s needs.
Enable communication and knowledge-sharing within the IMS PPM community.
Mentor, train and support new PMs and non-PMs assigned to manage projects in IMS.
Enable PMs with templates and regularly review templates for improvement from best practices within our IMS PPM community and outside of IMS.
Assist IMS PPMs with project recovery.
Expertly lead programs and projects, as assigned.
Coordinate and deliver monthly PM webinars, chair PMP prep study group, write PM blogs, etc.
Maintain the PM Community site online, Propel PM site, PMP Prep study Group site, etc.
Plan IMS PPM recognition and celebration for International PM Day annually.
Provide oversight to projects and programs within IMS and provide feedback and coaching.
Stays abreast of current industry trends and new technology through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars
Complete and maintain industry recognized project management certification Complete quarterly accreditation training.
Ability to lead, motivate and direct the IMS PPM community and PMs within programs you’re leading
Experience in running large programs containing 10+ projects
Experience with multiple project and program methodologies and processes, i.e. waterfall, agile, lean, Scrum, etc.
Solid knowledge of PM methodologies and best practices and represent IMS within Dell EMC methodology development
Excellent writing skills for blogs, IMS PM web sites, program communication, etc.
Top communication skills overall, including the ability to communicate openly and concisely with leaders
Skilled in the MS Office software suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Project, etc.)
PMP certification is required
Technical background and experience in Infrastructure, automation, programming, security, etc.
Good conflict management skills and ability to lead in ambiguity
Multi-tasker, ability to lead matrixed PMs that are part of the program
Ability to prioritize (projects, deliverables, etc.)
Collaborative, energetic and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrate quantitative and qualitative outcome focus and a no-excuse attitude
Able to create and maintain business cases
Great integrity and moral leadership
Experience in Managed Services environment, especially in delivery, is a plus.
Lean Six Sigma training and project experience
