What you’ll achieve
As a Sr Hardware Engineer (Power Validation) in the Customer Delight Engineering Storage Validation team in Cork, you will be responsible for ensuring power supplies used in our hardware offerings meet Dell Technologies Quality Requirements. You will be part of a Global Engineering team working on new product introduction and sustaining power supply projects in our storage hardware offerings. Your efforts will contribute to providing a positive customer experience for Dell Technologies customers who use our hardware in their data centers.
Develop qualification plans for power supplies used in Dell Technologies storage hardware products.
Perform hands on execution of power qualification projects in the lab. This includes hardware set-up, validation of proper operation conditions of power supplies and screening power supplies for operational limits.
Analyze test results, pro-actively seek solutions, and drive corrective action(s) on power supply issues found during qualification activities.
Take ownership of global projects including engagement with global cross functional stakeholders and power supply vendors.
Provide timely reporting of activities and projects.
Influence and shape qualification methodologies & processes.
Identify and drive qualification process improvements.

A strong background in validating AC & DC Power Supplies along with hands on experience with AC Power Sources, Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes &/or Protocol Analyzers.
BEng in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field with 5 to 8 years’ experience in a hardware qualification role.
Experience working in a diverse multi-cultural environment.
A team player with excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
Comfortable working independently as part of a global team.
A strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python or similar) &/or OS environments (e.g. Windows, Linux).
Knowledge of Dell Technologies Storage product lines.
Versatility to learn new areas of technology and associated validation techniques.
