Sr. Principal Lab Support Engineer

What you’ll achieve

You will be responsible for security monitoring, patch & vulnerability analysis and application, patch automation and ensuring that infrastructures vulnerability and patch management are aligned-to and maintained-on industry best practices mitigating risks to acceptable levels. In this role, you will be engaging with program employees, stakeholders, and executives to ensure appropriate and up-to-date security management.

You will:

  • Responsible for installation, configuration, testing, technical support, and process enforcement in the day-to-day operations of infrastructure systems regarding patch management process.

  • Govern the adherence to Security Policies regarding patch management

  • Perform test on all critical patches and validate the patches in test environment before rollout to critical production environment avoiding any potential business impact.

  • Management of patching solution for all Infrastructure and validate successful deployment and monitor for incompatibility or performance issues.

  • Develop processes and implement tools and techniques to perform ongoing security assessments of the production environment

Essential Requirements

  • 7-10 years of solid, diverse work experience in IT Infrastructure service management including experience in Technology Operations /patch management/vulnerability management/ Infrastructure supporting technology towers like Server, Storage, Backup, Virtualization (VMware)

  • Help support Active Directory and other network related features/functionalities (NIS, SSSD)

  • Should have strong experience in implementing and Managing Patch management solutions

  • Strong knowledge of antivirus, Patch management tools

  • Proficiency in scripting of packaged installation of patches, software, and configuration changes, scripting experience to help automate the patch management process.

Desirable Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of appropriate networks, products, and protocols (Cisco and Dell technologies, routing protocols), proficiency in monitoring applications (SolarWinds, Nagios)

  • Knowledge in creation of microservices and APIs to deliver custom features and functionality (python, ansible, PowerShell, shell scripting or Perl)
