What you will love about this job:

On the Digital Transformation App Factory team, you’ll work in a pair programming environment to migrate and modernize applications.The work involves multiple technologies from all of Dell Digital's lines of business. It is expected that multiple programming languages will be used to match that of legacy application being transformed toleveragecloud nativeplatforms(Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Vault) while leveraging 12 factor principals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine technical changes required to run an application in a cloud native hosting environment

  • Recommend least intrusive changes required to accomplish moving applications to a cloud hosting environment

  • Create unit tests and make enhancements to applications to reliably run in a cloud hosting environment

  • Document changes made for handing-off application to owning teams to maintain the application going forward

  • Operate as anchor or lead to the team, helping to solve complex problems

Essential Requirements

  • Communication & collaboration to enable high quality pairing during programming

  • Flexibility in approach to experiment and discover

  • Competency and ability to make changes across applications of C# or Java with minimal direction.

  • Knowledge of commonobject-orientedpatterns, separation of concerns, encapsulation & cohesion

  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience with a Diploma/ Degree qualification

Desirable Requirements

  • Usage of Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes

  • Usage of GitLab or Team Foundation Server (TFS) source control

  • Experience applying Test Driven Development in a pairing environment

  • Knowledge of lean concepts within a manufacturing or software context

On the Digital Transformation App Factory team, you’ll work on a balanced team in a paired programming model to deliver application modernization in a rapid way. Due to the nature of the work across multiple applications and lines of business, it is expected that multiple programming languages will be used to match that of legacy application being transformed to use cloud hosting technologies (Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, etc.) while leveraging cloud native technologies (12 Factors, Single-Sign-On, and others.)

Essential Requirements

  • Requires 8+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree

  • Competency and ability to make changes across applications of C# or Java with minimal direction

  • Communication & collaboration to enable high quality pairing during programming

  • Flexibility in approach to experiment and discover

  • Knowledge of common object-oriented patterns, separation of concerns, encapsulation & cohesion

Desirable Requirements

  • Usage of Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes

  • Experience applying Test Driven Development in a paired environment
