Advisory Systems Engineer

What you’ll achieve

As an Advisory Systems Engineer, you will provide pre-sales technical support to our field sales teams, helping to define the overall Dell Technologies solution for our customers using the full range of company products and services.

You will:

• Build and communicate an account technology plan which includes future state architectures, tactical initiatives and achievements and business relevant technology solutions

• Research and communicate technology, industry and market trends and mentor customers on their application

This position is responsible for representing the Dell Technologies ISG (infrastructure solutions group) portfolio to your customer (Leidos) The Presales Solution Architect (PSA) partners with the Account Executive (AE) and extended account team to better understand (and document) the customer’s current and future technology needs. The PSA translates the identified business outcomes into a technology modernization plan which ultimately provides the customer with insights into how Dell Technologies can assist them with achieving their desired business outcome. The PSA is responsible for the overall technical direction of the account and works collaboratively with Specialty Presales and Product Management to ensure alignment with product best practices.


At this level, supports US Federal Systems Integrator accounts.

Builds relationships with Technical Influencers within the account base to better understand current and future business/technical objectives

Understands Dell Technologies current install status and proactively looks for opportunities for technical refresh and/or competitive swap

Collaborates with Technical Influencers at the customer to build/maintain and IT Modernization Roadmap (IT Atlas)

Provides technical leadership to the extended account team

Understands market and industry data to provide thought leadership to position value of Dell Technologies and 3rd Party solutions

Leverages third-party and/or the Channel to create and position the solution

Qualifies highly complex sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding

Presents the design and value of proposed solution and business case to customers, prospects and management at a senior, sometimes executive level
