Role overview

Dell Technologies, Cherrywood, Co. Dublin is hiring an assistant finance controller for an EMEA retail role. It may suit a recent graduate, or someone in the early stages of their finance career, or a finance employee looking to experience controllership. It is an exciting role which will offer excellent training in one of the best-known technology firms in the world. Key Responsibilities

  • Work as business partner to the team to ensure profitable growth for the business, delivering financial targets within the overall company policies and guidelines

  • Prepares financial and business related analyses, research and risk assessment in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return/productivity performance.

  • Participate in Outlook and forecast cycle, liaising with business owners, marketing and services to build business views

  • Partner within the team & FP&A on all aspects of P&L Management. Be an advocate of internal discretionary cost control

  • Work closely with country and regional Finance teams as well as cross functional teams like the CoC, FP&A, Sales Operations, etc. to align on financial and business views

  • Compile weekly reporting and ‘tell the story’ around business performance into PowerPoint format

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, closing out queries across multiple functions

  • Credit management: ensure orderly closure of all rebate and promotional claims, exercising control and discretion to question the numbers.

  • Ensure business phasing is completed and submitted for plan and outlooks in a timely manner

Essential Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience and solid Controller ship foundation

  • Person who is proactive, solution oriented and customer focused

  • Very Strong analytical skills

  • Sound technical accounting skills – experience of accounts to trial balance and the main accounting concepts essential

  • Thorough ability to recognize financial implications of business decisions and strategy, ask questions and challenge assumptions

  • Strong PowerPoint skills and be able to develop effective presentations to directly communicate/influence senior management audiences

  • Ability to work very well both independently & as a team player

  • High attention to detail, and ability to multitask and cut through ambiguity and deliver detailed analyses of business situations
