It takes something special to drive the development and implementation of new and exciting products and services. That’s a job for our Services Project and Program Management team within Professional Services. The team works closely with sales, customer service, partners, customers and other technical support groups in cross-functional teams. Together, they manage the lifecycle of highly complex, high risk projects - from design to delivery.

The Program Manager works with external clients/customers to monitors projects from initiation through delivery and ensures technical compatibility for the various accounts. Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements, processes, and system integration considerations to determine appropriate technology solutions. Design, code, test, and document applications based on system and user requirements

  • Use current programming language and technologies, write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging of applications. Devise quality improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configuration.

  • Design, plan, document, develop, test, and release embedded software using a range of technologies associated with Dell’s mid-range storage product with a focus on RAID implemented in software.

  • Develop and sustain RAID related features, including (but not limited to) rebuilds, surveys, scrubs, copy, IO handling across processors, and RAID based IO handling

  • Collaborate on and implement architecture recommendations per business requirements as pertaining to RAID. Maintain existing code and implement bug fixes in a timely manner. Aid performance improvements and enhancing product usability

  • Analyze and diagnose problems associated with in the RAID functional area (or RAID’s interaction with other internal dependent modules) reported internally

  • Collaborate with teams across Dell Storage Center to fulfill dependency requirements and satisfy customer needs. Assist in identifying and eliminating performance bottlenecks

  • Work with the quality assurance team to ensure product quality and performance assurance. Review test plan to ensure feature test coverage. Troubleshoot failures reported internally

  • Analyze test code developed in JAVA. Test bug fixes or feature use cases using specially pinned Maven links provided by the quality assurance team

Essential Requirements

  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications, Computer Engineering, or related field of study (employer will accept 3-year or 4-year degree) plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience as a Storage Development Associate Engineer, Systems Analyst, Research Assistant, Cyber Security Graduate Student, or related occupation

  • Requires experience with C and C++ programing languages; design, coding, integration, and debugging; Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory or similar embedded system test tools; embedded debuggers, including GDB; source control applications, including GIT; thread safe programming; global locks; system configuration databases and concepts; Linux/UNIX environments; Java programing; storage virtualization with focus on virtualized RAID concepts, including RAID standards (types, levels, mapping algorithms); RAID data integrity concepts; IO algorithm variation across RAID levels/types; degraded RAID; and proactive disaster recovery, including RAID rebuilds, and scrubs
