Dell Operations Quality and Standards Engineer 2 in El Paso, Texas

The Global Operations Quality team interacts cross-functionally end-to-end, from Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Operations Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, Logistics & Fulfillment, PG Quality, Sales, and Customer Service. The team utilizes Systems Engineering principles and tools to ensure containment and corrective actions are in place to protect the customer and elevate the performance of Dell’s manufacturing processes through the relentless application of continuous improvement methods. Focus areas include development, training, and use of industrial statistical quality tools (SPC, Problem Solving, Quality Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking, Total Quality management, etc.), quality metrics goal setting and performance reporting, as well as developing and driving continuous improvement efforts and preventative actions.


-Designs and installs quality control processes, procedures and statistical techniques. -Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.

-Analyzes production limitations and standards.

-Recommends revision of specifications when indicated.

-Formulates or assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures.

-Works with product group organization to design the lowest cost, highest efficiency and highest quality


- Bachelors in relevant engineering discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience.

-Working knowledge of Quality Assurance, Management, and compliance tools is highly desirable:

-Facilitation skills, cross-functional awareness, fundamental understanding and ability to apply business and financial acumen to participate or drive cross-functional efforts

-Demonstrated ability to present clear and concise information to team, internal customers, and external customers

-Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and the ability to effectively lead change management efforts

-Demonstrated ability to work with and across teams to frame and analyze problems, generate and prioritize potential solutions, establish clear and effective action plans, drive closure of actions plans and implement solutions that are effective and lasting

-Demonstrated fluency with Excel and PowerPoint
