Game-changing technology projects need expert project managers to drive them – and that’s where our Project Program Management IT team comes into its own. We lead all aspects of IT project, program and portfolio activity and collaborate across all areas of the company to get results for our customers that exceed their expectations. Focused on completing projects and programs on time, within scope and budget, we define the project value proposition, manage resources, guide project team members and keep leaders updated on the project status and risk factors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages less complex single project, or module of larger project, typically in single functional area

  • Provides input into evaluation of project team members

  • Works under specific direction of other Project Managers, IT Managers or Program Managers

  • Interacts with internal customers (i.e., Product Managers, Project Managers, and Business Analysts, etc.)

  • Responsible for tasks and activities related to a project e.g., communication, documentation, reporting, maintaining schedules etc.

  • Communicates with Senior Management regarding status of specific projects

Essential Requirements

  • Ensures scrum rules are followed and promotes agile values within the feature team

  • Works with PgM to unblock impediments, raise risks and align dependencies across teams

  • Unblocks impediments, escalates issues

  • Shields the Dev team from external interference

  • Coordinates and supports team deployments

  • Measures and monitors development metrics (e.g. velocity) via TFS reporting

  • Drives the development and execution of each sprint by working with project team to define, sequence, and estimate duration of activities and determine schedules to meet objectives

  • Prioritizes features and specifications, applying budget, timeline and other constraints

  • Works across all functional areas, gathering inputs, updating product plans and roadmaps, and communicating the impact of product/ solution decisions to all stakeholders.

  • Ensures consistency and adherence to Dell standards, processes, and policies for all projects

  • Facilitates and manages resource planning, cost estimation, budget development, and cost control

  • Manages the identification, resolution and escalation of project risks and issues

  • Tracks project budget and resource utilization against plan

  • Plans and executes project communications ensuring timely and accurate distribution of information, documentation, and issue resolution to all appropriate team members

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3+ years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent experience

  • Financial Services experience - Commercial Originations and Lease Servicing a plus

  • Experience with using Team Foundation Server (TFS); or Jira a plus

  • English as a second language
