About Business Unit:

Services & Marketing IT is hiring a Software Engineer 2 that would be part of Dell’s Services IT QEO team performing quality assurance activities. He/She should possess excellent skills in technical problem solving, ability to communicate to Development team and Business users to discuss requirements and develop the testing strategy also will be responsible for Analyzes and conducts thorough quality-control tests to ensure that software operates properly, is defect-free, and meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. Documents and works to resolve all problems. Reports progress on problem resolution to leadership. Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of probable future configurations. Focus on Test Automation (script creation and execution) following agile methodology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with business and development teams to clarify requirements to ensure testability.

  • Conducts a limited variety of quality-control tests and analysis to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements.

  • Drafts, revises, and maintains test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts.

  • Executes test scripts according to application requirements documentation.

  • Logs defects and makes recommendations to address defects.

  • Documents, evaluates and researches test results.

  • Retests software corrections to ensure problems are resolved.

  • Documents evolution of testing procedures for future replication.

  • Provides input into simple estimation efforts on projects.

  • Interacts with other testing members, developers and project management.

Essential Requirements:

  • 5+ years of total software/IT engineering/code development experience.

  • 3+ Years of experience with Microsoft TFS

  • Have depth and width of decision making maturity. Be able to gain trust & respect of engineering, dependent teams and stakeholders to deliver results

  • Ability to manage and influence team members without direct reporting authority

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment; work with minimal supervision while delivering on action items in a timely fashion

  • Ability to rapidly assimilate new information and develop general knowledge of system being tested.

  • Must have automation experience (SDET).

  • Fast learner for modern and innovative technologies, application and automation Frameworks

  • Focus in automation testing tools and procedures.

  • Must know Agile/Scrum methodology.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Fluency in English (reading, writing and speaking proficiency).

  • Problem solving, organization and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a global team.

  • Leadership and pro-active skills.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM development methodologies and software development lifecycle principles

  • SCRUM Master certification a plus
