Sr Advisor Site Reliability Engineering

We count on our site reliability engineers (SREs) to empower our users with high availability, and stellar performance level to pursue their missions. As we expand our SRE footprint to cater to Dell Digital, we are currently seeking experienced SREs who bring fresh ideas, demonstrate a unique and informed viewpoint, and enjoy collaborating with a cross-functional teams to develop positive user experiences at every interaction.

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Advisor, you will provide the design and execution know-how to ensure performance and availability of systems handling IoT data for products deployed by our most important enterprise customers. Your multi-faceted experience and adaptability will contribute innovations that ensure reliable service delivery for Dell's customers.

You will:

  • Refine new and existing application and hosting architecture, collaborating directly with business and software development teams to optimize reliability, maximize performance, and ensure that systems can be efficiently managed

  • Mentor operations personnel to aggressively intercept events that threaten system availability

  • Spearhead process improvement across mixed teams to systematically improve organization response to production threats

  • Communicate with senior IT leadership, business leadership, and Dell end-customers about SRE

Essential Requirements

  • Combination of software development and operational support roles

  • Experience performing failure mode analysis, root cause analysis, Problem Management or similar activities within a governed process and experience with performance management/capacity management of high volume, mission critical systems

  • Experience with developing and supporting IoT applications using technologies such as restful web services, MQTT, data streaming, and data sharding

  • Experience with Springboot Java framework, Apache, Nginx, Kafka, Prometheus, HiveMQ, or similar platforms

  • Experience with microservices architectures and containerization platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker and Experience with Oracle and MongoDB DBMS

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with solution development and data analytics in Python

  • Experience with test-driven development, automated testing, Q/A, and/or Performance Testing
