What you’ll achieve
As an Outside Sales Product Specialist, you will proactively identify and solve customer business needs by providing subject matter expertise and creating solutions using Dell’s products and services.
Top required skills for our APEX Sales Specialists “as a service sellers” include:
o Hunter Mentality
Motivated, persistent, competitive sales reps - skilled at developing and winning customers
Razer-sharp focus and skilled on how to take out competition
Resourcefulness across multi-faceted deals, & working across orgs to build POCs / prototypes
o Outcome vs Product Focused
Specialists need to be adept at TCO analysis and accounting techniques
Strong solution focus - drive dev engagement and data driven conversations
Adept at “cloud-speak” (e.g., fluent on self-serve, immersive delivery, cloud experiences)
o Relationship Minded
Perseverance for long engagements / POCs, large project scope, competitive pressure
Work with internal sales team to ensure sales velocity, simple experience and delivery against expectations
o Value/Growth minded
New imperatives for growth: acquire, increase value and retain customers; follow our customer to create value and not the other way around
On-going on-premise operational focus: trust, security, privacy, compliance matters
o Upsell/Cross-sell mentality
Grow recurring revenue - APEX value goes up exponentially as complementary offers added
Sales rep needs to work closely with the matrix sales team to identify areas to upsell/cross-sell
o Open minded/no myopic thinking
Agile reps that can adopt new thinking
Business-oriented sellers who understand customer-desired outcomes, build new culture, and improve process with customer feedback
8 to 12 years of related experience in a relationship selling role
Bachelor’s degree preferred
