What you’ll achieve
Project APEX is defining the future of Dell Technologies – and the APEX offers is the central pane of glass for delivering all APEX offers to our customers. It’s a singular orchestration platform across the company for our customers to engage with Dell Technologies. We are looking for a consultant to join our SRE team for the APEX console. We are looking for someone who believes if you build it, you run it; automate every task possible; and keeps the operational load down to allow for development time.

Be part of the team accountable for health of Dell Technologies APEX offer including 24/7 monitoring, incident management, and security
Develop tools to identify reliability risks, monitor application growth, and triage production issues
Coordinate with infrastructure and platform teams on regular maintenance, improve availability, scalability, and performance of the environment.
Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive change management to prevent a recurrence
Participate in on-call support with Engineering, Infrastructure, and platform teams during outage or maintenance activity
Actively engage with internal teams to develop tooling, framework to drive full observability and automation of the environment.
Provide feedback into product and development teams for service stability and reliability features
Work in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment with cross-functional teams and business groups
Identify opportunities for service improvements, mentor junior team members, interface with leadership
8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience
Strong understanding of SRE principles and operational practices, SLOs and error budgets
Experience in performance optimization and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems
Experience deploying Cloud Native systems built on Micro Services architectures utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD Tools such as Jenkins, Git, Artifactory
Strong programming and scripting skills utilizing languages such as Python, Golang and IaaC automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
Experience working with Database Systems such as Postgres, Cassandra, Redis, MongoDB, SQL, Oracle, SAP
Experience with REST APIs and messaging systems like MQTT, RabbitMQ, Kafka
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, Google GCP
Experience with the VMware vSphere suite of products such as ESXi, VSAN, NSX, vRealize, vROps, Hyper-v and KVM
Managing Datacenter compute environments containing Dell EMC PowerEdge Servers, and management tools such as iDRAC, OME, Redfish, PowerTools
Exposure to Data Center L2/L3 Network environments, VLANs, Routing/ Switching protocols such as BGP and OSPF, Leaf/Spine Designs, SDN, Load Balancing, NAT, Management
Expertise with Multi-Protocol Storage Systems, Management and Automation with QOS, Data Services such as Encryption, Data Reduction, Snapshots, Replication
Operational knowledge of Storage Area Networks such a Cisco MDS, Brocade, FibreChannel iSCSI
Understanding of engineered Converged/Hyper Converged Infrastructure systems like VxRail
Exposure to Cloud Computing in Private, Hybrid and Public Clouds
Understanding of Securing environments using Firewalls, TLS, RBAC, Authentication, Password Vault, Certificates
