They work in close partnership with teams that specialize in segment marketing, global operations, product management, customer relationship marketing and finance. In collaboration, they build both demand plans for whole product families and specific marketing plans for particular products or segments. Outlining approaches as well as specific activities, they are key to establishing, enhancing and distinguishing Dell product placement within a competitive global market. The Dell Networking, Solutions, CI and HCI Product Marketing team is looking for a talented marketing professional to join our group and help drive customer references. The Customer Reference Manager is responsible for developing customer advocates to enable sales, support internal and external marketing activities, and promote customer successes. Working closely with Corporate Marketing, Field Marketing, sales teams, and other business units, the lead will help identify qualified customers to develop compelling success stories that provide positive testimonials and help evangelize the Dell brand globally. Reporting to the Messaging, Programs, and References lead in Product Marketing, this role will be critical to supporting sales campaigns and demonstrating the power of Dell Technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Increasing the repository of fully qualified Dell EMC customers willing to work with us on various reference activities

  • Ongoing communication and outreach to the sales teams to identify and nurture reference candidates

  • Leverage a variety of tools resources such as Salesforce, Dell EMC’s Win of the Week program, and the Converged User Group community members to drive reference activities

  • Drive awareness for new content and customer stories by leveraging social media, AR, PR and events

  • Review asset templates and content to drive the creation of compelling stories

  • Help develop a quarterly plan for new asset development working with the Product Marketing team

  • Manage the development of sales wins, case studies, videos and other reference assets working with writers, agencies, customers and sales and delivery teams

  • Assist with managing relationships with independent writers and outside agencies

  • Participate in event planning to leverage customers and assets to help tell the Networking, Solutions, CI and HCI story and enhance our presence at events

  • Engage with AR and PR teams to leverage customer stories

  • Drive continuous improvement in the recruitment process

  • Maintain inventory of customer reference assets, ensuring content in published in Dell’s Reference View

  • Work with field marketing and sales enablement to communicate new assets, processes and successes with sales and delivery

  • Maintain customer relationships to support ongoing reference activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a focus in marketing or communications

  • 2+ years' experience in a marketing role in the Information Technology industry

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Team player with strong collaboration skills

  • Resourceful, can-do-it attitude.

  • Ability to be flexible based on shifting timelines and priorities

  • Customer centric tendencies

  • Program and project management experience

  • Able to drive cross-functional projects across sales, marketing and delivery stakeholders

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, social media tools, and other platforms such as Salesforce.com at http://salesforce.com/

  • An interest (and fluency a plus) in Dell and Dell EMC's core product and solution areas

  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment
