Dell Consultant, Project/Program Management in Hopkinton, Massachusetts
Dell Technology (DT) IoT Division’s Development is a group that builds solutions leveraging existing products from Dell Business Units. We are looking for a dynamic Program Manager to join us in development of an exciting joint Dell and VMware networking product. The result will be new capabilities for both our customers and our partners.
Dell Technology IoT Division is a pioneer in solution design and innovation. The DT IoT Division was formed in 2017 to focus and foster IoT edge opportunities across all the companies under the Dell Technology holdings. It is a 1 Billion dollar investment in edge IoT over three years. This position is working in the development group within this division.
Job Role and Responsibility:
You are responsible for ensuring successful execution, monitoring and improvement of the defined goals and work of the development teams. You possess business insight, a real passion for process detail and efficiency as well as engineering wherewithal in order to help guide the development team to bring their product to market.
In this role you will hold "better together", "shared outcomes" front of mind to ensure reciprocal product requirements and dependency management through regular joint interlocks and open program reviews with the Dell and VMware leadership team. You will be working with remote teams that are geographically distributed and some amount of travel may be required.
You will lead Agile sprint planning and execution of multiple engineering team across multiple companies while building an environment of performance and accountability. Build, project schedules and key indicators of execution cadence, assist in removing obstacles and clearly communicate statuses as they relate to release and program cadence. You will establish metrics, predictability and transparency in keeping 2 teams in sync across 2 parts of the company. With this, you will build a partnership with engineering teams and Product Managers to achieve key strategic goals. You thrive as a driven monitor of activities, who can introduce solutions and processes to improve engineering execution. You will communicate clear metrics and status updates and work deeply in the tools and ensure complete update and closure of requirements; Run reports, show status and follow up on execution based on reports improving accountability of engineering, product marketing and testing/rollout . Participate in driving major initiatives within engineering, working with Test, Development, Product Management and Release central teams.
Proven ability to manage programs and projects with remote and global and diverse teams across geographies, time zones and companies.
Quick and efficient documentation of status, action items and project documents
Excellent organizational skills and able to juggle and prioritize a broad range of projects at once, willingness to hustle
5 or more years of experience with program management of complex projects for a technology, software or consumer electronics company
Bachelor's’ degree in engineering disciplines
Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal and conflict management skills. Is an approachable effective force which holds the team together. Able to interact deftly with engineering, managers and executives.
Ensures that team delivery is based on agreed priorities and protects the team from distractions. Focuses conversations on scrum values of openness, integrity and respect. Removes individual or team blockers.
Familiarity with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
A focus on continuous improvement of process, communication and delivery
Supports product owner to groom and prepare backlogs for sprints.
Represents the product owner when called upon to manage communication with partners.
Either have experience or have the aptitude to acquire Agile practices. You will be coaching individuals and interactions over processes and tools to ensure correct use of the process for defined activities.
Courageous: Ability to learn quickly with an attention to detail. Self-starter with the ability to work across all functions of the company.
Sense of urgency and immediacy with inclination to optimize, automate and innovate
Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations

Ability to grasp the “big picture” and self multi-task
Program management and/or Scrum Master certification preferred
Working knowledge and experience with virtual and physical networking concepts and terminology.
Experience with open source project development.
Have a baseline technical education (e.g. Computer Science, Software degree is preferred).
