Dell DevOps Tools Director in Hopkinton, Massachusetts

Dell EMC’s Infrastructure and Engineering Operations (IEO) organization is looking for a passionate and experienced leader for our Application Lifecycle Management tooling portfolio. IEO operates these critical tools on behalf of the ISG Division of Dell Technologies and these tools form the back-bone of the build and release infrastructure of multiple multi-billion dollar a year software product teams.
Candidates should have proven experience implementing and scaling a multi-tenant ALM tooling ecosystem for global leverage. The ideal candidate will be able to balance the strategic nature of this role while pushing to consolidate existing legacy tooling and driving operational efficiencies. Partnerships with key product line engineering leaders will be critical to success. The ideal candidate will be seen as a thought leader and critical partner in this space by key business partners and the team they will be leading.
Drive the ISG Tooling hosting and support strategy aligned with product line tool selection
Consolidate existing tooling in alignment with product line timelines and requirements.
Business acumen to negotiate future licensing while developing an overall ROI model for the best hosting strategy
Drive innovation, security and rigor into the supported ecosystem.
Ensure operational excellence of ISG tooling portfolio.
Understand industry trends and keep ahead of these trends to deliver solutions that demonstrate Dell’s competitive edge.
Lead our architecture and software development teams and work across the different lines of business and teams to ensure we are exceeding their expectations and needs.
Build and sustain a global team to operate and improve continuously.
Maintain transparency and providing regular communication to stakeholders.
Develop and own technical roadmaps and drive and align this across teams and partners.
Work with the team to develop, maintain, and communicate current development schedules, timelines and development status.
Establish KPIs to drive the delivery and quality of the team’s deliverables.
Own your schedules, quality, and commitments.
Work with key vendors and partners to ensure we deliver best in class solutions.
Critical hiring criteria
10+ years of experience with software development tools and pipelines
7+ years of management leadership
Must have working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Coverity, QMetry, Zephyr
Working knowledge of ServiceNow, Cloud operating models, Ansible, Puppet, Kubernetes, PCF, and PKS a plus
Experience leading organizations >50 in size
Great communicator and can effectively develop and communicate out a vision and strategy
Successful/proven record of executing and delivering to schedules and roadmaps
Second line management experience highly desired
Experience leading global teams
Experience driving and delivering innovation
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
