About Business Unit:

The Dell Storage Business Unit is looking for a Technical Product Manager to join us and focus on building the next-generation of storage management software. This is an opportunity for you to lead the development of a breakthrough storage management software from concept stage and drive through to delivery with your leadership and out of the box thinking. You will be working with a team of highly passionate individuals with a strong focus on execution.

Role Overview

Showcasing excellence and innovation at every stage, Product Management is responsible for the cross-functional management of products or solutions through their entire lifecycle. Using a wealth of technical and industry experience, we work across functional areas to implement our products or solutions. We undertake thorough analysis of the markets to ensure we maximize profitability and adjust our product strategies to respond to competition. Our role also involves acting as subject matter experts for internal and external product events or partner meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a differentiated product vision and a comprehensive roadmap for storage management and orchestration software

  • Operationalize the delivery of the vision through projects, feature definition, releases, with a focus on time to market

  • Research market and competitive trends, assess competitive advantages and determine product features and functionality that needs to be built

  • Define clear, concise and actionable requirements and user stories

  • Support prioritization of requirements in support of key customer personas for the products

  • Drive development activities with engineering team during development process based on priorities, provide feedback on critical design choices based on user impact, and help steer the release process to ensure timely and high quality deliverables

  • Define and implement pricing strategy

  • Evangelize product value proposition internally and externally

  • Work across organizational boundaries to collaborate with leaders in cross functional areas and eco-system teams

Essential Requirements:

  • 9-13 years of product management experience, preferably within an area of enterprise storage or infrastructure software

  • Strong understanding of

  • Enterprise customers’ business needs

  • Storage protocols like iSCSI, FC, NFS, CIFS, Object

  • Private and hybrid cloud concepts

  • Industry standard orchestrators VMWare vRealize Orchestrator/Ansible/Puppet/Chef etc.

  • Cloud management platforms like Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Kubernetes

  • Good understanding of

  • Server defined storage

  • Open source software

  • Hyper-converged Infrastructure solutions

  • Containers and micro-services technologies

  • Experience with/Knowledge of SaaS solutions, storage management, virtualization a plus

  • Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly

  • Ability to communicate and translate technical issues for business users as well engage & lead architecture & design discussions with engineering architects

  • Metrics-focused and detail-oriented
