Senior Consultant, Strategy & Planning (Data Protection Product Management) - Santa Clara, CA or Hopkinton, MA

Dell Data Protection is $3B+ market leader in data protection software and appliances. Its an exciting time to be in Data Protection as the industry is undergoing tremendous change with over $1B in venture money invested in this space over the past 12 months. Dell EMC Data Protection is also undergoing a significant transformation in strategy, organization and process to maintain its leadership. We are looking for a senior strategist to be a part of the Product Management leadership team, reporting directly to the SVP of Product Management. The incumbent will be responsible for strategy across various pillars – Market, Products, Process, and People. In addition, the individual will drive planning and execution of a number of strategic initiatives. This is a high visibility role requiring a significant amount of senior executive interaction and can serve as an entry point within Data Protection leadership for high potential candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a cohesive understanding of Data Protection strategy across multiple pillars – markets, products, technology, process, and people, and their implications for product strategy

  • Lead the development of overall product strategy, in conjunction with SVP PM, Data Protection leadership and PM leadership. Prepare strategic content & presentations. Own the strategic narrative

  • Conduct strategic assessments, identify and bring forward key issues and opportunities in a clear and structured way, through thoughtful and compelling presentations.

  • Lead the planning and execution of key strategic initiatives working with SVP, PM leadership team and a number of internal and external stakeholders. Initiatives may include new product introductions, engagement with sales and marketing to drive new customer acquisition and revenues, transformation of PM/engineering team to agile process or other programs that will deliver success on a quarterly and annual basis.

  • Own DPD PM quarterly scorecard, KPIs and overall progress against key initiatives

  • Manage the strategic planning, performance review, Ops Review, QBR’s, and budgeting process for the organization

  • Plan leadership events such as quarterly leadership meetings, staff meetings, town hall meetings and other events

  • Attend various executive meetings to keep a pulse on our business, connect the dots. Be able to represent SVP in meetings as required

Requirements

  • Strong executive presence and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational agility and the ability to lead teams through ambiguous situations.

  • Ability to perform and articulate qualitative and quantitative business analysis at a high level.

  • Excellent presentation and story-telling skills

  • Excellent innovative and structured thinking.

  • Strong operational and execution skills

  • Prior background in strategy, product management, marketing or sales is a strong plus

  • Master’s degree with 8-10 years of experience preferred
