We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Software Engineer to work on the Dell EMC Next Gen Midrange Engineering - Data Protection Team in Hopkinton, MA . As a Software Engineer, you will get the opportunity to work with our world class talent in designing and implementing features for the data protection/mobility domain area of our product in an agile development environment. To enable your success, you will be assigned an experienced mentor within the team who will help you ramp up on our work environment and build your domain expertise.

Our ideal candidate works under limited direction and within general practices, provides technical expertise by independently determining and developing solutions based on feature requirements. Understands company goals, priorities and practices and applies them in resolving a variety of problems. Uses judgment, creativity and sound technical knowledge to obtain and recommend solutions.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to feature development and maintenance activities through knowledge of programming in latest tools and technologies.

  • Provides solutions to a variety of problems of limited scope & complexity.

  • Collaborate with people across geographies and different functions.

  • Participate in agile programming practice and complete development tasks & assignments with limited direction.

  • Participate in the creation of software development artifacts, including functional requirements, design specifications, code, unit tests and user documentation.

  • Accountable for the delivery of assigned tasks. Operate with a sense of urgency, anticipate issues and take appropriate actions.

SKILLS

  • Bachelors (Technical), Masters preferred

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated software development background

  • Software development skills in at least one mainstream language, such as JAVA, C++ or Python

  • Familiarity with scripting language, Perl or Shell Scripting in open systems

  • General knowledge and application of software engineering concepts, algorithms and design patterns.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Use tools appropriately with technical guidance, seeks assistance when needed.

  • Ability to work in a team environment
