Product Management Senior Consultant

As the CEO of your product line you will bring a vision of what is possible tomorrow and develop a strategy to make that vision a reality. Specifically, you will act as the owner of the next generation PowerProtect Data Manager platform driving a critical data protection and management software strategy for different form factors across standalone software, cloud services, and integrated data protection appliances, latter driving a $300M annual business in a competitive market with 3% CAGR.

With a relentless will to win and a maniacal focus on our customers, you will lead our next generation software strategy showcasing innovation at every stage. You are responsible for the cross-functional management of your product ensuring strategic fit in our long-term roadmap.

What you’ll achieve

As a Product Management Senior Consultant, you will identify new growth areas, technologies and emerging product/service opportunities. You will conduct in-depth market analysis to optimize existing products/solutions and build next generation products, partnering closely with the Engineering and Product Management teams to build a product road map and align product strategies for the business.

You will:

  • Understand the broader strategic context of data protection at Dell Technologies and build a vision for how the next generation of Dell Technologies’ PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) software will deliver a critical component of the winning roadmap.

  • Drive the strategy and roadmap for PPDM.Next working with your peers covering integrated appliances to deliver a word-class scalable service-based software offering.

  • Work closely with the CTO office and architecture teams to ensure PPDM.Next delivers the foundation needed to run in next generation data centers and the public cloud.

  • Develop a point of view on how PPDM.Next would support data protection use cases for the edge use cases (OT etc.)

  • Develop and drive the migration / transition strategy from current gen PPDM standalone software and PPDM-based integrated appliances to the next generation platform.

  • Collaborate with other product owners and agile development teams to create user stories, identify dependencies, and prioritize the engineering backlog relative to existing priorities for in-market offerings.

  • Manage the dependencies of PPDM.Next across software and appliance components.

  • Engage with customers and partners to understand the competitive landscape, customer requirements.

  • Develop business case justifications, competitive analysis, pricing, positioning, and product revenue plans factoring in cannibalization of current offerings.

Essential Requirements

  • 15+ years of management in a product management, software engineering, or equivalent domain.

  • Entrepreneurial drive to design new, innovative, and disruptive solutions to existing sales and operational challenges.

  • Understanding of customer needs, market requirements, and technology trends to enable us to develop solutions to internal and external business problems.

  • An understanding of next generation architectures including the use of containers.

  • Proven track record of working with software development teams operating in the scrum@scale methodology.

  • Demonstrated ability of building, releasing, and growing large scale enterprise solutions using latest technologies.

  • Ability to manage dependencies across different component teams and conflicting priorities to remove impediments.

  • Experience with offer management such as pricing, subscriptions, quoting, entitlement, licensing

  • Proven experience managing and influencing large global teams, especially engineering and sales stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, additional MBA desired

  • Strong technical skills in IT, datacenter, edge computing systems, Cloud, compute, storage, networking and security

  • Experience with containers, cloud architectures a plus.
