About Business Unit:

The candidate will be part of the Dell Digital Development team which is responsible to re-define the customer experience. The domain of work will be around integrating various services and components across multiple websites. Expectation from the candidate is for strong technical and analytical skills. Candidate should also be ready to take up a mentor role or lead the team and drive the team’s strategy and define the success parameters for the team members and Dells business.

What you’ll achieve:

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing & automating a comprehensive smoke, functional and regression suite in addition to testing ongoing changes/enhancements to the applications. You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Customers/Partners and Leaders on defining our future state commerce experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play the key role in overlapping the two worlds on design and engineering.

  • Coding CSS based websites that are W3C compliant and creating animations in HTML5/CSS3 with JavaScript.

  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use and implementing complex jQuery functionalities.

  • Working on cross browser compatibility for developed code.

  • Optimizing the application/website for maximum speed, scalability and SEO.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in Internet facing web applications.

  • Experience level required of 12 to 15 years

  • Proficient working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap. Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS. Experience in modern JavaScript such as ES6, Promises, Testing, Closures etc.

  • Deeper understanding of Chrome Dev Tools. Should understand nuances of the timeline for perf monitoring. Knowledge in frameworks such as React , AngularJS etc and good understanding of the basics of these frameworks and their life cycles. Experience with runners/bundlers such as Gulp, Grunt, Webpack

  • Deeper knowledge of UI optimizations and performance. Experience with browser testing and debugging. Understanding of all major browsers and the special considerations required for their various quirks.

  • Passion for user experience and user-centric development. Knowledge about UX and layout design etc.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge of .Net and cloud-based application nice to have.
