Supply Chain Senior Advisor

Location: Louisville, KY

Our Supply Chain team within Materials and Purchasing drives the development, implementation and management of supply chain operations and suppliers in the delivery of strategic programs. It’s all about managing supplier relationships and ensuring the availability of parts and services in the supply chain, while maintaining inventory at acceptable levels. We focus our resources on the continuous improvement of the movement of materials through production processes and establishing key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning and forecasting.

What you’ll achieve

As a Supply Chain Senior Advisor, you will be responsible for leading multiple programs, to coordinate and integrate the flow of materials and information across suppliers, operations/manufacturing, distributors and customers. You will carry out strategic supply chain analysis to identify and recommend opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain.

You will:

  • Manages and coordinates supply chain activities across multiple teams and geographies

  • Performs as the Program Manager for all procurement functions necessary to set-up, forecast, procure and deliver materials for Dell or ODM factories

  • Creates and manages integrated supply chain processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics as well as outside suppliers

  • Manage activities globally to prevent material shortages and react quickly to material shortages; minimize excess and obsolete material

  • Assist management in the development of key initiatives to improve business processes and customer service delivery

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Works closely with other functional areas to develop supply chains for new and existing products

  • Coordinates activities globally to prevent material shortages and react quickly to material shortages

  • Works with regional demand teams to plan pre-production and production materials. Partners with Global Commodity Managers for product sourcing decisions

  • Represents procurement on product development teams to ensure “design to value” analysis is done throughout product lifecycle and help manage/reduce supply chain complexity

  • Provides procurement expertise to ensure optimized supply chain strategies and business plans are in place for assigned products and to ensure best cost and COS

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years of Supply Chain experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree; or 3+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience

  • Excellent understanding of global supply chain, manufacturing footprint and logistics capabilities

  • Very strong program and project management skills

  • Advanced supply chain management expertise, negotiation and supplier evaluation skills

  • Deep market research knowledge, as well as a sound understanding of business goals and current industry trends
