Within the Cyber Security unit at Dell, we are looking for a Security Monitoring Services Senior Analyst, Cybersecurity to join our team in Limerick, Ireland .

Background

The SMS Security Senior Analyst serves as operational support for the technologies that the Security Information Management (SMS) area of corporate Cybersecurity support. Ensures that all system components are maintained, updated, monitored, accessible, and available according to Cybersecurity standards; while partnering with other engineers in the evaluation, testing, and implementation of diverse solutions.

You will:

  • Interface with cybersecurity engineers, governance, and IT teams to assist in obtaining data analytics or data protection reports and correlations.

  • Support implementation of infrastructure, applications, monitors, security controls, and other project requirements based on cybersecurity standards and policies.

  • Assist and perform testing of implemented solutions, recommend improvements, and support the deployment of changes following Dell's change and release management process.

  • Serve as operations level-2 support for assigned technologies, contribute to root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and service restoration procedures.

  • Manage the infrastructure and software lifecycles; including setup, maintenance, end-of-life retirements, replacements, and upgrades.

  • Deploy and administer all maintenance patches and hotfixes as recommended by engineering; while ensuring that all managed systems adhere to Cybersecurity policies, standards, and processes.

Essential Requirements

  • General understanding of IT and Cybersecurity technologies.

  • Knowledge of SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, and security event correlation.

  • Linux and Windows Administration.

  • Strong verbal and communication skills

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals, DNS, SysLog, SFTP, SSL

Desirable Requirements

  • A 2-year degree in Information Technology, Information Security or related major; or 2 years of direct experience in the field of cybersecurity or IT.

  • Industry certifications relevant to the role such as: CISSP, CRISC, CISM, ISA/PCIP, COBIT, and ITIL.

  • Experience with Splunk and Splunk Apps to include developing new or extending existing Apps to perform specialized functionality. Or Experienced system and Oracle/SQL database administrator

  • Knowledge of web-based technologies and scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, Perl and shell scripting, XML, HTML.

  • Familiar with the definition of regular expressions (RegEx).
