The team works closely with sales, customer service, partners, customers and other technical support groups in cross-functional teams. Together, they manage the lifecycle of highly complex, high risk programmes and projects - from design to delivery.
A programme manager directs, and coordinates the activities of matrixed individuals working on the projects within the assigned programme. They are responsible for managing related projects in a coordinated way to obtain benefits and control not available from managing them separately. They may also be responsible for coordinating multiple project managers dedicated to a common project or a small number of large/highly complex customer projects/deliverables. Responsible for consistent application of all standard programme and project management methodology processes, tools, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle as aligned to the PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) standard of program management and/or PRINCE2 and/or MSP.
Drives all aspects of programme management activity, including collaborating and coordinating across the organization.
Defines programme value proposition, work plan, resource needs, timeline and budget for global programmes.
Manages resources to complete the programme objectives on time, within scope, and on budget.
Ensures that constituent project managers adhere to the standard project management methodology throughout the project lifecycle, as aligned to PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and/or PRINCE2 and/or MSP.
Drives programme decisions to support Dell’s and/or the customer’s strategic direction and business objectives.
Changes that affect scope, schedule and resources are identified, managed and controlled with an integrated and cohesive plan.
Scope is defined, approved, managed, controlled; ensuring completed deliverables are accepted by the customer.
Revenue is forecasted and recognised.
Costs are estimated and managed to deliver programme and project within customer approved budget, while preserving profit margins.
Resources are assigned and managed effectively and efficiently.
Risks and issues are proactively identified and managed.
High quality is planned and delivered on the programme and projects, meeting all agreed upon requirements and ensuring high customer satisfaction through the management of the overall customer experience.
Communications are planned and conducted during the programme and projects to ensure stakeholders are involved, expectations are accurately set, managed, and key stakeholders receive adequate communications throughout the project lifecycle and this includes customer and Dell stakeholders.
Undergraduate degree and 10+ years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 8+ years relevant experience.
