Role Overview

Secureworks Security Risk and Consulting group is rapidly expanding its security architecture and design practice. We are currently looking for strong security consultants with proven experience in identifying client security breaches and ability to be security advocates for a number of well-established global enterprise clients. On individual client projects, you will aid in the management and monitoring of client IDS, IPS, firewall, DDoS mitigation, UTM, log management, and other devices, and leverage various internal platforms and your in-depth understanding of exploits and vulnerabilities in order to provide network and data security for our clients.

You will be responsible for performing highly detail-oriented work that involves performing security threat analysis of various malware and web attacks, tuning a client wide event stream consisting of events from all major security platforms and working with clients to remediate security related issues based on operational needs.

Role Responsibilities

  • Define and Lead the Security Operations function within our large enterprise EMEA transition programmes

  • Work closely with EMEA SDA consultants to ensure a single, integrated programme with one approach, evidenced by version controlled collateral held on agreed, shared location

  • Work closely with Global Residency Enablement Programme to ensure alignment and effective outcomes for both our clients and Secureworks

  • Identify and focus on improving areas of weakness in global transition programmes and support interaction with Key Stakeholders from both Transition and Enablement teams

  • Ensure that Service Enablement works consistently and in a repeatable manner across EMEA – UK, Central, North & Middle East with Stakeholder buy-in

  • Be Key Client Contact for EMEA Service Enablement and ensure governance is documented and operational with sales and pre-sales (Intake process)

  • Develop collateral to support pre-sales engagement and attend client pre-sales calls with the sales team

  • Perform accurate and precise real-time analysis and correlation of logs/alerts from a multitude of client devices with a focus on the determination of whether said events constitute security incidents

  • Manage all customer interactions in a professional manner with emphasis on customer satisfaction

  • Analyze and assess security incidents and escalate to client resources or appropriate internal teams for additional assistance

  • Handle client requests on projects in a detail-oriented fashion in order to resolve a multitude of information security related incidents

  • Perform event stream tuning and validation using internal tools, metrics and your in-depth understanding of key security concepts

  • Mentor and train new hires to support business growth and a high quality of Security Operations service

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Significant theoretical and practical knowledge in the following areas:

  • Unix, Linux, Windows, etc. operating systems

  • Well-known networking protocols and services (FTP, HTTP, SSH, SMB, LDAP, etc.)

  • Exploits, vulnerabilities, network attacks

  • Packet analysis tools (tcpdump, Wireshark, ngrep, etc.)

  • Regular expressions

  • Database structures and queries

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail and great organizational skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills that would allow for the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues

  • Customer-oriented with a strong interest in client satisfaction

  • The ability to learn new technology and concepts quickly

Education

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Completion of a Master’s degree or equivalent program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Network Security, Information Security, Information Technology, or Mathematics and 0-2 years of work experience in the field

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Network Security, Information Security, Information Technology, or Mathematics and 2-4 years of work experience in the field

  • Completion of an Associate’s degree or equivalent program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Network Security, Information Security, Information Technology, or Mathematics and 4-6 years of work experience in the field

Preferences

Certifications

GCIA, GPEN, GWAPT, GCIH, GSEC, OSCP, OSCE, GCFA or similar certification preferable
