Key Responsibilities:

Category / Merchandising is the execution and adjustment of the BU plan in Quarter through the 4Ps (Product, Pricing, Promotion, Place) and is the core connection point to distribution partners. As Category Manager, you will deliver the product and configuration plans to our partners that enables optimal sell in and sell out in order to hit our P&L goals for channel. You will design Promotional merchandising roadmap for commercial client portfolio (Mobility, Desktops, Services and Software/Peripherals) for the Spanish market, for Distribution and channel partners.

As Category Manager, you will use market and competitive data to decide on config selection for their market and partner and drive promotional and messaging activity – both planned and adhoc as needed to drive the business in quarter. Working as part of the Central Client Solutions team with strong links to regional merchandising and channel marketing teams you will thrive in the value added, insight-based and customer focused environment.

The role will work closely with the extended local distribution/channel organization’s (including finance, sales, marketing and operations) to deliver strategies and tactics that are aligned to the Client Solutions priorities of delivering profitable growth.

This is a high impact role with high visibility that requires a highly motivated candidate with strong communication and analytical skills.

  • Manage strong and effective relationships with distribution and channel partners, and internal partners to drive business performance and shared objectives.

  • Drive omni-channel promotional activity to and through distribution based on analytics (IDC, Context, Business Intelligence, etc.) that are aligned to CS strategy to our business priorities.

  • Collaborate with regional Marketing, Finance, CS, EMEA Pricing and Distribution / Channel sales teams, to align strategy and drive execution.

  • Drive quarterly planning preparations, defining key strategies and priorities, sell-in plans and sell-through focus areas. Manage promotional activity to ensure attainment of the plan.

  • Optimize proposal with BUs priorities, programs, Partner marketing team to ensure funding opportunities are maximized.

  • Align sell-in plans with inventory forecast for promotional activity to maximise low cost logistics. Prepare internal sales communication and run regular calls with sales audience.

  • Build relationships with regional channel marketing managers to gain insight and collaborate on activities to drive maximum impact (tactical and strategic). Prepare the financial business case and RUM impact estimation and get approval with BU’s / Finance. Define marketing collaterals for Dell communication as well as Communication package for distributors and resellers.

Essential Requirements:

  • 5 years+ experience as a Category Manager with Financial, project management and merchandising skills

  • Subject matter expertise with distribution and demand generation

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills necessary

  • A strong drive for results, organizational agility and coordination skills

  • You have strong skills in both financial and market analysis

  • Strong communication skills – and the ability to build / lead strategy

  • You have experience in developing, launching and leading a high performing portfolio

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the I.T industry desirable

  • Additional European language will be considered a plus
