What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Advisor, Data Engineer you will assist in optimizing the performance of 5G and beyond 5G systems using AI/ML from the core network to the radios. You will provide database operations support, monitoring databases and backups, resolving repetitive and simple events and escalating more complex incident according to the standard operating procedures. In addition, you will be responsible to make the data palatable across various distributed file system (DFS).

You will:

  • Design, plan, and implement most aspects of database management and may begin to specialize in one aspect of database management such as data administration, web connectivity, physical structure, logical design, SQL and SQL applications or overall architecture and database analysis

  • Participate on new initiatives/projects of moderate complexity

  • Evaluate and recommend the purchase and utilization of software products to assist in the management of data

  • Plan and perform installation and maintenance of DBMS software

  • Diagnoses problems and determines resolution for applications and system software

  • May be responsible for planning and upgrading of major/complex application and database upgrades

  • Perform security management by auditing and maintaining roles, privileges and user profiles

  • Perform complex application builds and refreshes; installs, upgrades, patches and maintains application environments

  • Support planning and execution of new application capabilities and major upgrades; supports creation of disaster recovery procedures

  • Harmonization of system data collected using multiple modalities.

  • Documentation of the data curation processes.

  • Assisting in the feasibility review for data access applications.

  • Preparation of datasets for approved data users

Essential Requirements:

  • Possesses and applies broad knowledge of database principles and practices

  • Broad knowledge of database definition, design, and configuration

  • Knowledge derived from experiences with more complex database systems

  • Competent to work in most phases of client server relational database management

  • Knowledge of Linux, Windows Server, Storage, Network and Security

  • Strong statistical analysis skills

  • Strong Macro, C, C++, Visual Basic Programming skills

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skill

  • Ability to work in a team environment

Desirable Requirements:

  • Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related fields

  • 5G research experience desirable, academia or industry

  • 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
