Federal Inside Technical Sales Rep.

The Inside Technical Sales Rep is responsible for selling a defined set of products and services and providing technical advice to the inside sales teams during the sales process. Accountable for delivering technical solutions, products, and /or services that address customer needs of varying complexity (via telephone, chat, web, or e-mail); or working with subject matter expert(s) to address a solution of even higher complexity. Advises customer of product features, configurations, pricing, services and availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direction and guidance/mentor to team members and coaches others in closing the most complex deals

  • If account/acquisition focused individual responsible for highest revenue spend in business and/or account complexity within assigned business

  • Advanced level specialized sales representative, influencing how others engage and interact across the segment

  • Organizes senior internal/external resources in response to, and in anticipation of customer needs

  • Maintains relationships at executive leadership and departmental levels to lead to new business opportunities

  • Utilizes strategic probing to identify, evaluate, and recommend highly complex alternative technology solutions

  • Understands and leverages solutions and can explain how complex multi-faceted solutions will benefit the overall business

  • Effectively balances demands from multiple stakeholders, coordinating team where appropriate to ensure timely delivery

  • Identifies and engages senior cross functional resources, regardless of geographic location, in order to achieve goal/meet customer needs

  • Effectively balances short term and long term priorities, anticipating and addressing long-term and complex issues before they arise

  • Most senior trusted advisor to the account team(s) in providing clear understanding and awareness of the benefit of all new products and services offered and the most complex and advanced solutions

QUALIFICATION:

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of relevant proven experience in a Technical Sales environment

  • Uses advanced knowledge to build customer relationships and assist customers in developing business solutions using Dell specialized products and services

  • Advanced level of competency in providing total solutions and providing cross segment teamwork

  • Exhibits a detailed knowledge of multiple or related industries as well as an acute business understanding

  • Gains industry certifications
