As a Sr. Sales Engineer (SE) for Dell Data Security you will be responsible for the technical sales activities of our suite of our market-leading endpoint security software products. We have the ability to sell in ways to other software vendors can’t. We sell via traditional volume selling, via attaching to hardware shipments, and/or with the help of Dell Financial Services. This makes us unique in the market.

The SE should have proven experience with soliciting business requirements, developing a technical sales strategy, configuring and effectively demonstrating the solutions that address these requirements and provide business value throughout the entire technical validation process. Demonstrations include presentations to business and technical audiences ranging from end users to Sr. Executives using a variety of technology, as well as impromptu discussions.

The SE assists and often leads in sales opportunities along with the Account Executive. As a key member of Sales team, the Sales Engineer is also responsible for adhering to Dells core values, and providing measurable customer value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Data Encryption at rest and in motion, Anti-virus/Anti-malware (Next Gen), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Incident Response, Data Backup/Recovery, Managed Services

  • Develop and demonstrate core competence within the Dell Data Security product line of software solutions.

  • Provide flawless product presentations, demonstrations, proofs of concept, RFI/RFP responses and more.Basically the full technical validation cycle for every opportunity at every level.

  • Work with Product Marketing, Sales, and Engineering teams to identify and resolve potential inadequacies in the products.

  • Deliver demonstrable examples of technology that highlight the value of the Dell Data Security product line.

  • Participates in all appropriate product training to acquire and maintain a detailed level of product knowledge

  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows OS, Mac OS, Virtualization, SQL Server, firewalls, networking protocols, certificates, virtual and physical client/server environments, cloud –based environment

  • Knowledge of trends in the security space around encryption and anti-malware

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ recent years selling complex security software solutions into Mid-size and large corporations.

  • Product and Technical Knowledge. Delivers an expert level of the technical value in presenting the full benefits of the solutions we represent.All the technical features and the supporting technologies driving the operation of our solutions.Also presenting all the competitive advantages and business benefits of our products

  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Data Encryption at rest and in motion, Anti-virus/Anti-malware (Next Gen), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Incident Response, Data Backup/Recovery, Managed Services

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills a must.

  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to travel as needed
