Dell Sr Director, Business Development (SLED) in Missouri

North American Commercial State and Local Government Strategy and business development leader. Continue to develop and implement our State and Local Government strategy and go to market teams. Ensure we have our SLG POV aligned to our customers top priorities and a programmatic approach to implement and ensure growth of the SLG business. Lead the SLG Business Development Managers and CTO's and drive accountability and ownership of SLG strategic pursuits, plays and programs.

Some of our most valuable business comes from existing customers. That’s because our Business Development Sales team takes care to forge strong and insightful relationships with them. To gain understanding of the unique and changing factors that drive purchasing decisions, the team develops connections at all levels of a client’s business. They use their insight to identify and create new opportunities – and to build the business development strategies that underpin successful sales. As well as maximizing revenue, they take responsibility for accurate forecasts.

This position requires approximately 60% travel in U.S.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes focus for operational teams, managing directors at a global level

  • Drives coordination with cross-segment functions

  • Provides overall leadership among sales, sales planning and strategy leaders and influences how others engage/interact with client set

  • Coordinates global programs to design and implement planning and strategy programs that have a significant impact on the success of the sales force

  • Leads Six Sigma/LEAN (industry) activity

  • Leads sales planning and strategy efforts

Essential Requirements

  • Typically 18+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Typically requires 10+ years diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization and people motivation skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Ideal candidates will have State, Local or County CIO or CTO experience as well as experience in the Commercial sector
