Inside Product Specialist for VMWare- Nashville, Tennessee

Dell Technologies is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. The Global Compute and Networking organization is hiring a VMware Specialist who has strong organizational, planning, and communication skills with a track record of building successful customer relationships in a team environment. The VMware Specialist works collaboratively with a cross functional inside datacenter sales team, providing pre-sales technical support in order to build new business relationships and increase VMware sales with prospects. This role will be dedicated to providing pre-sales VMware sales support of solutions, products, and services that help customers with varying needs of complexity and will be based in Nashville, TN.

Role Responsibilities

Candidate will be a quota-carrying demand generating phone salesperson responsible for identifying, positioning, quoting and closing complex VMware offerings on Dell Compute, Networking, and Storage solutions, VMware specific expertise across the entire datacenter product portfolio including virtualization, orchestration, automation, and hyper-converged infrastructure.

Design and deliver VMware product demonstrations based on the customer’s requirements and help drive customers toward purchase using expert technical knowledge

Build and increase expertise for Dell’s OEM VMware product and service offerings, as well as business processes and systems

Promote key strategic product and service offerings, while articulating technical, industry, and market facts to position Dell as a competitive solution

Assist in the on-going technical education and development of the broader team

Remain up-to-date on new product, technology, and services offerings, while remaining current on industry and vertical solutions as well

Maintain a strong desire to ensure our customers have a positive experience when working with Dell and ensure Dell’s brand increases


Typically requires 4+ years of related experience in a relationship selling role with a Bachelor’s degree

Possesses strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills

Ability to display proficiency with CRM tool, and strong ability to forecast and manage enterprise-related sales opportunity pipeline

Ability to work effectively with field-based sales resources/team
