The Telecom Network Account Executive for Verizon will be a trusted advisor to the Network CTO Organization for Dell Technologies. The Network AE will thoroughly understand Verizon’s strategy, business priorities and network investments and develop & execute a Verizon-specific network sales engagement plan positioning Dell Technologies’ Telecom Solutions. This is a “ground-floor” opportunity to build a new business at a well-funded, rapidly growing “start-up” division within one of the largest global technology companies in the world at the beginning of the 5G journey. You will have to be both strategic and tactical, be patient and aggressive, listen and provide thought leadership, and be technical and business oriented,

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Network account executive individual contributor reporting to the Client Executive on the Verizon account team

  • Telecom network focused, accomplished, hands-on account executive with a track record of selling emerging technologies and innovation early in the business development process through to customer success, and any stage in between.

  • Responsible for Dell Technologies telecom solution network sales to Verizon

  • Portfolio includes existing, evolving and new product portfolio and services

  • Target sales into Verizon’s HQ Technology Strategy, Planning and Architecture teams and Verizon Business Group’s Product Organization for Core, Edge, RAN, MEC, Private Wireless and network cloud solutions

  • Target services sales to Maintenance Engineering & Operations organizations to help augment, accelerate and reduce risk in Verizon network FOA and deployment initiatives

  • Drive Verizon channel sales of Dell Technologies solutions through the Verizon Business Group sales channel

  • Leveraging industry ecosystem partnerships as enablers and/or catalysts for Dell Technologies solution sales

  • Collect, translate and prioritize Verizon near, medium and long term strategy and requirements into Dell Technologies’ product & solution roadmaps in time to match Verizon’s buying timeframes and cycles

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Typically requires 12+ years of telecom sales experience in a relationship selling role with a Bachelor’s degree, and preferably an MBA

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Possesses an excellent relationship-building style.

  • Knowledge of Verizon’s strategy, organization, processes, priorities and network

  • Working knowledge of the 5G, cloud-native, core, edge and RAN architecture

  • Understanding of the current and evolving disaggregated, open network architectures & vendor ecosystem

  • Understanding of the business and economic drivers for network planning, decision-making, and trade-offs & prioritization

  • Experienced in executing long-term, strategic and complex negotiation leverage and tactics

  • Comfortable with and able to engage, interact and communicate at all levels within Verizon from the technical influencers that write the RFxs up to the executive decision makers and across partner stakeholder organizations to neutralize “veto” situations

  • Veteran Tier-1 telecom senior sales executive with prior roles in pre-sales, delivery and/or product management

  • Operator technology and/or operations experience ideal

  • Ability to seed, nurture, cultivate, identify and validate customer priorities, business drivers, and outcomes

  • Ability to translate business needs into Dell Technologies solutions and be able to position associated value add and business impact

  • Experience navigating, leveraging resources, and working within a complex, matrixed organization with ability to prioritize activities and lead & direct dynamic engagement teams across multiple product units, solutions, services, marketing, pre-sales and sales organizations

  • Proven track record of success leading in a matrixed, complex, fast-moving and constantly changing sales environment within an extremely competitive market

  • Strong technical acumen and the ability to align customer business challenges to the Dell Technologies portfolio and the desired business outcomes they can achieve
