Solutions Architect – Cloud


The DellEMC Solution Architect is responsible for providing remote management, administration, support and ongoing maintenance of vRO/vRA platform within a customer’s CI/HCI environment.

The role is expected to participate in a 24x7x365 shift rotation/ on-call calendar with colleagues and be able to work in a positive and collaborative fashion with fellow team-members, senior engineering architect staff, vendors and customers. The Solution Architect will assist with process maturation, development, technical standards creation and drive operational excellence through consistent delivery and best practices. This role will also include the core fundamentals of day to day operations based on the ITIL methodology.


  • Develops and cultivates strong customer relationships. Holds responsibility for achieving the Virtustream Bar of Excellence as the highest level of Customer Satisfaction for every customer. Expected to have strong customer-facing skills including negotiation, conflict resolution, and crisis management.

  • Contributes to the development of strategies, policies and best practices through participation in team meetings and other direct contributions.

  • Proficient in working directly with highly technical customers and managing customer expectations.

  • Adheres to and utilizes proper Escalation and Change Control procedures. Prepares, maintains and submits activity/progress reports and time recording/management reports in accordance with published procedures

  • Stays current on technical specifications for hardware/software requirements of EMC and industry products through professional associations, trade journals, networking and associated training and seminars. Actively works to educate others on potential problems and resolutions.

  • Participates, as needed, as a technical expert in the pre-sales qualification and is responsible for the delivery of the technical architectural design, strategizes and plans that will be delivered in the engagement. May be responsible for the creation of proposals that address current and evolving client requirements

  • Participates in requirements gathering for project engagements

  • Contributes to the development of strategies, policies and best practices through participation in team meetings and other direct contributions.


  • Extensive VMware VRA/VRO experience

  • VCP 5.0/6.0

  • Scripting experience – Puppet/Chef/JavaScript preferable

  • 10-12 Industry Experience

  • Private/Public cloud deployment and support experience of 5+ years

  • Experience Installing and Configuring vRA, vRO, vSphere for production environments

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform and other Private and Public Cloud vendors

  • Working Knowledge of Deploying and Supporting IaaS and PaaS platforms.

  • Strong problem solving skills.
