Technical Support Engineer - Isilon

At Dell Technologies, world-class service doesn’t end when a customer purchases our innovative products. Our Technical Support team is there for them whenever they need help – by phone or email, online and on social media. No matter how complex the challenge, we rise to it. We answer questions about the installation, operation, configuration, customization and use of Dell Technologies products. For critical matters, we use our systems to provide remote diagnostic technical support. If there’s an issue with a customer’s product, we’ll analyze it, identify the cause, recommend a solution and document the problem.

Join us as a Technical Support Engineer 2 and become a member of the Global Services support team, where you will have the ability to work independently or as part of a team with some of Dell Technologies most strategic customers and partners to drive their success.

What you’ll achieve

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will provide support to our customers, using Dell Technologies products, isolating, diagnosing, reproducing and fixing technical issues. To be successful in this role, you are a highly motivated individual as well as a self-learner, possess strong customer service and technical and analytical skills; and be someone who welcomes challenges.

You will:

• Resolve issues while working closely with multi-functional teams

• Provide feedback to Engineering for improving product quality and reliability

• Determine priority levels while negotiating and setting expectations with customers

• Ensure the customer is communicated with in a timely manner and treated with the highest degree of respect

• Drive excellence through quality closures and proper escalation of issues

Essential Requirements:

  • Excellent written skills and verbal communication skills in English

  • First-rate interpersonal skills, phone etiquette and work ethic.

  • Ability to work under pressure with calmness and composure.

  • Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Education Required: Bachelors (Tech) preferred.

  • Experience Required: 2+ years relevant experience.

Technical Requirement:

  • Knowledge in Linux administration and management.

  • Knowledge in TCP/IP networking and IP switches.

  • Basic Storage knowledge (NAS).

  • Knowledge in Windows OS and DC.

  • Knowledge in Linux administration and management.

  • Knowledge in TCP/IP networking and IP switches.

  • Basic knowledge about SAN/NAS knowledge (it would be even better if the candidate has dealt with storage related work before)
