The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation application enhancements and new products for a changing world. What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.

You will:

  • Contributes to the design and architecture of new or re-engineered software/storage environments

  • Prepares written software/storage specifications for complex products from architectural diagrams and documents Develops and reviews design, functional, technical and/or user documentation, as needed

  • Measures and analyzes quality metrics.

  • Defines and implements actions for departmental or cross-functional process improvements

  • Design, implement and unit test file system software using C.

  • Read and understand design specifications for new functionality, implement software according to design specifications.

  • Identify and solve performance and scalability issues involving large data sets, mixed work-load.

  • Work in a distributed-team environment using Agile methodologies

  • Collaborate well with other engineers and other engineering groups, voluntarily share information.

  • Contribute to organizational goals and objectives.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience: 5- 8 Years of enterprise class product development.

  • Experience in Unix systems programming.

  • Experience in C, multi-threading, algorithms, data structures

  • Experience in scripting languages like Shell or Python.

  • Experience in debugging tools like gdb, wingdb.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Storage system technology(especially File Systems/Volume Manager experience)

  • Linux internals

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or masters in Engineering.

Our Software Engineering team ensures that our next-generation software is of the highest quality. We conduct a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that our software meets or exceeds end-user requirements. We debug software products, oversee the development of test plans, ensure system tests are documented, analyze the results, provide feedback to developers and make sure that all problems are resolved. We also select testing specifications for new products and ensure testing procedures comply with industry-specific standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand design specifications for new functionality.

  • Work with the Dev team and come up with a plan to test and automate new features/functionality.

  • Deploy the product binaries and/or production/internal builds on physical/virtual hardware and verify readiness of systems for functional testing

  • Execute automated test cases to verify product functionality/feature/bug-fixes.

  • Create test frameworks including functional/stress testing

  • Automate existing test-cases or create new scripts for testing product functionality

  • Gather relevant evidence and create issue summaries in bug tracking software

  • Work in a distributed-team environment using Agile methodologies

  • Collaborate well with other engineers and other engineering groups, voluntarily share information.

  • Contribute to organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science/Engineering.

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Scripting (Shell) and Python

  • Detail oriented, methodical.

  • Effective in a fast paced, dynamic team environment.

  • Understanding of product lifecycle management

  • Exposure to storage domain (volume manager/file-systems/cloud storage/distributed systems)

  • Comfortable with basic Unix commands

  • Knowledge of various load generation tools a big plus

  • Comfortable with using JIRA/other bug tracking software

  • Experience with Agile methodologies (optional)
