The Data Domain Software Automations Team supports Software Engineering in ensuring that our next-generation software is of the highest quality. We build, test, and support an automation framework that enables development engineers to script a wide range of quality control tests. We help teams develop test plans, ensure appropriate tests are automated, provide feedback to developers and make sure that all problems are resolved. We also select testing specifications for our own framework and ensure testing procedures comply with industry-specific standards.
-Work in an agile environment to develop new features and functionalities in the automation framework.
-Support product developers as they create, maintain, and enhance test scripts.
-Develop and extend framework features to support critical product deliverables.
-Train users in Python, automation, and quality planning, and effective use of the automation framework.
-Support the team in effectively delivering tasks and stories in a scrum team.
-Experience developing within a test automation framework
-Professional experience in a QA or QE role
-Experience with a scripting language such as Python, Ruby, Perl or similar
-Previous experience in software development
-Software Configuration Management Knowledge (Source Control, Branching, etc.)
-Understanding of Software Development Principals & Practices
-Detailed knowledge of Python, REST interfaces, virtualization, and/or backup appliances
-Experience testing an embedded software system
-Development experience including understanding of change control, bug management, and branching strategy.
-Familiarity with industry-leading backup applications such as Networker and Avamar
Education and Experience Level
Typically requires 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3+ years with a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience.
