The DevOps Security Architect for Dell is a senior individual contributor with the responsibility to define and drive the strategy to integrate secure development practices and tools in Dell DevOps model. This technical leader must collaborate with DevOps teams across Dell Businesses to define a consistent DevOps security model and drive adoption of security across the DevOps phases.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing applications or cloud services as part of a DevOps team and demonstrated success in implementing security tools. This position requires strong DevOps experience, combined with a passion for application security in order to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the strategy to adapt Dell Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) to modern development models involving continuous development, integration, testing and deployment

  • Recommend tools and automation strategy to support adoption of SDL by DevOps teams

  • Define and drive implementation of a “secure pipeline” for Dell DevOps teams

  • Partner with global development teams to drive adoption of SDL automation

  • Actively track industry DevOps security trends and act as the DevOps security expert within the Dell SDL team and across the software development teams

  • Drive continuous improvement to Dell product security strategy and provide recommendations to senior management on strategic issues based on technical expertise and knowledge of industry trends combined with business needs

  • Mentor other members of the organization

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience

  • 10+ years or more of sustained excellence in software development, release engineering or other applicable technical field

  • Results-driven and accountability-minded

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing and shifting priorities

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to speak confidently and credibly in public forums

  • Ability to confidently and effectively present complex technical topics to senior non-technical audiences

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a larger matrixed organization

Travel Required

  • Some travel is expected
