ACCOUNTABILITIES Focuses on service management discipline within the environment to minimize impact to the business Performs tasks relating to telecommunication operations, installation and/or maintenance for local, off-site and/or remote locations Designs, configures, deploys, tests, maintains, monitors and trouble-shoots telecommunication voice/video components to provide a secure, high performance voice/video network Documents and maintains global/ITIL standards and processes and the development of specifications, records, form layouts, etc. Analyzes and translates business requirements and user needs into engineering, design, and technical specifications to support telecommunications infrastructure Develops and maintains vendor and internal/external customer relationships Prepares cost estimates for current and proposed telecommunications activities Confers with and advises on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods and the use of telecommunications May take responsibility for network convergence work streams RESPONSIBILITIES Designs, plans, and leads implementation of telecommunication systems Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing voice, data, or video systems and procedures Reviews work-in-progress and suggests corrective action to keep projects on schedule Writes and maintains operating manuals and assists in preparing activity and progress reports regarding telecommunications function Ensures that installed systems are working effectively and may provide direction to technicians and analysts who install and maintain systems May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of less experienced team members Recognizes business needs when prioritizing projects and selecting methods and techniques for solving telecommunication problems Frequently suggests solutions based on analysis and interpretation of telecommunication equipment diagnostics, usage, and programming May manage short term projects to successful completion May manage network convergence projects
