We are currently seeking a Federal Network Security Sr. Advisor to join our Security & Resiliency team, based in Round Rock, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain and oversee the implementation of network security technologies for the Dell Federal organization.

  • In-depth disciplinary knowledge; leverages business acumen and subject matter expertise.

  • Able to work technical problems that may be diverse and highly complex, with particular emphasis on network cybersecurity engineering.

  • Provide deep subject matter expertise, advice and program delivery.

  • Contribute to the development of new techniques and plans within area of expertise.

  • Manages Dell Federal projects and program execution (both mission critical and baseline)

  • Able to demonstrate the upstream and downstream impacts and dependencies of both introducing technology into the enterprise and the implications when making changes to that technology once in production

  • Effectively communicate cross-functionally to solicit and consume technical requirements

  • Identify effective IT and cybersecurity solutions

  • Adapt programs and projects based on customer or business partner feedback and requirements

  • Works to understand Dell Federal business priorities, strategy, needs and expectations.

  • Develops innovative and creative output based on interpretation and analysis that improve business performance and contribute to corporate goals and strategic intent.

  • Opportunity/risk analyses

  • Cost/benefit analyses

  • Pricing models

  • Escalate to senior leadership as required.

  • Effectively communicate and influences others.

  • Contributes to the area through delivery of end results and contribution to planning for the area.

  • Provides thought leadership, guidance and advice in own field.

  • Cultivates, develops and manages strong, lasting customer relationships at senior management level.

  • Manage and maintain vendor relationships. ​

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience can be substituted for educational requirements

  • 7+ years of working knowledge deploying/maintaining LAN and WAN infrastructures, and security

  • Experience with security processes and documentation

  • Experience with firewalls/IDS preferable Checkpoint, Palo Alto or SonicWALL

  • Strong verbal and communication skills

  • BA or BS degree in CS, Information Systems, or a related field ITIL Certification
