Responsible for a set of products and services, they get to know their portfolio inside and out. Our Inside Sales teams rely on them for technical advice during the sales process. They directly advise customers on everything from product features and configurations, through to pricing and availability. Crucially, however complex the question, they’re ready to deliver technical solutions to meet customers’ needs via phone, chat, web or email.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for selling a defined set of products and services. Provides technical advice to the inside sales teams during the sales process. Accountable for delivering technical solutions, products, and /or services that address customer needs of varying complexity (via telephone, chat, web, or e-mail); or working with subject matter expert to address a solution of even higher complexity. Advises customer of product features, configurations, pricing, services and availability.

  • Understands and leverages solutions and can explain how complex multi-faceted solutions will benefit the overall business

  • If account/acquisition focused individual responsible for highest revenue spend in business and/or account complexity within assigned business

  • Advanced understanding of subject matter, fully adept in products and services

  • Advanced level specialized sales representative, influencing how others engage and interact across the segment

  • Organizes senior internal/external resources in response to, and in anticipation of customer needs and effectively balances short term and long term priorities, anticipating and addressing long-term and complex issues before they arise

  • Maintains relationships at executive leadership and departmental levels to lead to new business opportunities and effectively balances demands from multiple stakeholders, coordinating team where appropriate to ensure timely delivery

  • Utilizes strategic probing to identify, evaluate, and recommend highly complex alternative technology solutions

Essential Requirements

  • Provides product or BU specific expertise and may own account sets and/ or be called into accounts as opportunities are identified

  • Acts as a technical resource to support the sales organization to meet and/or exceed their objectives

  • Identifies customer needs/ requirements, and recommends the appropriate products and solutions

  • Provides pre-sales technical support during the sales process and promotes and positions key strategic product and service offerings

  • Remains up-to-date on new product, technology, and services offerings and stays current on industry and vertical solutions as well

  • Uses strong knowledge base to build customer relationships and assist customers in developing business solutions using Dell specialized products and services

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and equivalent experience in relationship selling
