Dell North America Marketing Director for US Federal Government Segment in Round Rock, Texas
The Marketing Director will lead the North America Federal Government Segment Marketing team and serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the US Federal Marketplace. This individual will lead Federal Marketing team members to to develop and execute this multi-billion dollar segment’s marketing strategy through integrated marketing campaigns including thought leadership, demand gen, events, sales enablement, digital and solution marketing.
The NA Federal Marketing Director will work closely with sales leaders, business development, product group and solution teams to help drive impactful & innovative marketing initiatives.
Serve as SME for the Federal Government segment on industry trends in the defense and civilian markets, buying behaviors, pain points, competitors, and overall market opportunities. Utilize a variety of sources, industry experts, and validate findings with sales/customer interaction
Advocate for the Federal Government segment through internal communication, plan and aid in the development of vertical training, drive thought leadership activities, become active and engage with vertical associations and groups
Work with core segment and extended marketing teams to deliver integrated marketing plan that meets segment financial goals, aligns with Federal Government segment initiatives, and capitalizes on market trends and opportunities within the segment/vertical
Coordinate alignment of programs to Federal Government segment revenue and margin goals. Recommend and drive in-quarter corrective action as needed by working with the broader team.
Manage vertical/segment budget and spending mix across categories
Utilize standard metrics to track marketing efforts and drive program results throughout quarter/year
Drive overall Federal Government segment agenda for marcom and online, including budget management, recommendations on content theme & vertical callouts as related to segment business needs. Collaborate with marcom and online teams
Drive overall Federal Government segment events agenda, including recommended events, budget allocation, and proposed themes. Facilitate the strategic planning process to
enable events team counterparts to ensure timely & successful execution
Maintain regular engagement with PR/AR and social media team to drive thought leadership.
Maintain regular dialogue with inside/outside teams and sales leaders; attend sales meetings. Provide sales team with marketing roadmaps and training on key initiatives, industry trends & partner solutions
Drive content and usage of sales resources to maximize productivity; package materials for sales teams and channel to allow for easy consumption
10+ years of experience and deep understanding of the US Federal Government marketplace
Experience developing and executing long-term, effective Marketing strategies and plans
Expertise in influencing partners and stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to analyze businesses/markets and offer innovative actions to respond
MBA or 10+ years of relevant Marketing experience in similar field
5+ years diversified leadership, planning, communication, collaboration and people motivation skill (or equivalent experience)
