The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. What you’ll achieve

As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be a valued member of the ISG CTIO Platform Architecture and Pathfinding team exploring forward-looking technologies and architectures to be used in next generation data center products. We are seeking an individual with comprehensive product development experience including extensive Linux kernel and driver development experience. Excellent communications skills will be required to work effectively with technical leaders across the organization including CTO office members, advanced development engineering, product marketing, and solutions groups. The effort will explore innovations in next generation data center deployments including server and storage and the supporting infrastructure. This will be a hands-on role incubating new pathfinding and spawning proof-of-concept activities to develop architectural directions for future generations of data center infrastructures.

Candidate should have strong problem-solving and analytical skills with agility to adapt to technologies and processes quickly and ability to tackle projects that are loosely defined and be able to provide direction and structure that may evolve quickly based on learnings and new information. Essential Requirements

  • BS/MS in CSE/EE or equivalent

  • 4-8 years of development experience in a technical role in most of the following areas:

  • Linux OS and C, C++, Go, Java, Python languages

  • Understanding of OS specific internals, packaging, security, and design considerations

  • Experience developing device drivers and kernel level development in a Linux environment.

Desirable Requirements

  • Familiarity with computing and/or data center related architectures

  • Experience developing device drivers in a Linux environment

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CSE/EE or related field

  • Experience with embedded OS and/or control plane development

  • Experience programming embedded applications with a heavy data flow dependency

  • Familiarity with computing and/or data center related architectures

  • Solid understanding of x86 hardware architectures and how to program related I/O

  • Experience developing userspace and/or DPDK drivers

  • Experience developing Hardware abstraction libraries and MQTT infrastructure

  • Familiarity with NVMe, PCIe, RDMA protocol concepts
