Dell is currently hiring a Product Line Manager for Latitude. Location is our Round Rock, TX campus. As part of the Mobility Product Line Management team, this position is responsible for meeting overall objectives and business metrics associated with the Latitude Education and Latitude Mainstream (entry) categories. The PLM will work cross functionally with multiple teams including but not limited to - Product Marketing, Demand Planning, Field Marketing, Sales, Services, Pricing, Finance, Displays & Client Peripherals (D&CP), Operations, Procurement, On-Line, PR and the Global Marketing Teams to ensure market success of products that PLM is responsible for.
Develops marketing and communications plans and activities for specific product(s) or solution(s)
Drive appropriate product strategy with Product Marketing Managers, Product Planners, Field Marketing Managers, Cycle Planning Managers and other cross functional partners using a data driven analytical approach.
Develop long-term product strategy and portfolio investment recommendations
Monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs
Oversees the analysis and evaluation of key market statistics and customer requirements to define product/ solution strategies and identify opportunities to expand market share
Maintains current status of customer requirements for existing and future products/ solutions, Supports product/ solution launch and provide sustaining efforts to enable quoting, validation, pricing, order entry, and fulfillment of products/ solutions under management via internal sales tool and external web stores
Develops content for internal & external audiences relaying product / solution strategies and value propositions, including customer presentations and sales training materials
Works with Demand Planning, Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Pricing teams to ensure product availability, optimal lead-time, forecast accuracy and competitive pricing for products / solutions under management
Manages product/ solutions launches to ensure sales force readiness and optimizes P&L impact of product transitions
Provides input into: item forecast & mix planning, category UPP and BU offer strategy Provides input into product transition playbooks (may also draft the playbooks)
Own and maximize the P&L for the assigned products / product portfolio.
Responsible for product business plan, forecasts, P&Ls, margins, Identifying & mitigating risk factors, pricing analysis and recommendations
Leads creation of complex product marketing materials and performs product marketing activities through entire life-cycle
Creates materials which drive common product positioning, messaging, and marketing materials to achieve maximum effectiveness and minimize regional duplication of effort
Responsibilities include assessing market requirements, investigating new technologies, developing recommendations to influence product roadmaps, feature sets and product improvements to meet customer needs.
Attend relevant PG core team meetings and represent/provide input, establish plans and strategies to ensure product roadmap addresses key customer requirements for the NA. Region.
Position requires ability to interface with all levels of organization including the executive management team as well as external customers, press and industry analysts
Provide financial guidance, achieve financial targets by building and executing business plans for assigned products / product portfolio
Guides product introductions and product updates
Develop and execute Sales and Marketing strategies to accelerate revenue & margin growth for the category.
Coordinate and develop training - utilize in-depth product knowledge to train Sales Representatives and Field Marketing managers
Attend, contribute and organize sales events and articulate product line value proposition, technical details, and other applicable information to Sales Representatives.
Work closely with Product Group, Field & Segment Marketing, Sales, Business Management, Marcom, On-Line, Operations and Finance Teams to ensure seamless execution of product offering and business growth.
Act as technical "go-to" resource, answering technical and non-technical questions related to product set.
Pipeline Management and Large Deal Engagement - must be willing to help support in a technical/sales capacity to help close large opportunities and identify opportunities.
Bachelor's Degree with 8 + years relevant experience in Sales, Marketing, Product Marketing, and or a combination of the above
Must be organized and able to prioritize & perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Must possess strong analytical skills, business and financial skills
Understanding of technical product concepts, Knowledge of PC industrial technologies, future trends & direction, including competitors
Product Management and Analytics Experience
Customer/market knowledge and technical product knowledge.
Business analysis experience
Presentation/communication experience (to various levels within the organization
