While Dell drives human progress through groundbreaking technology, the Learning and Development team within Human Resources drives the development of our people. We need everyone to be at the top of their game, so we design, prepare and deliver training and development programs for our managers and team members to achieve this. We deliver and evaluate a wide range of programs, from new employee orientation and performance management to leadership development. We also help to shape learning priorities within Dell and work consultatively with other HR professionals to share knowledge and implement organizational development programs.
Responsible for provided OD Support for ISG working closely with the P&O OD and OA teams.
Drives key programmatic activity (Tell Dell, Succession, etc)
Plays critical role in organizational planning for ISG including long term talent requirements, executive movement, etc.
Helps drive the operational structure (BMS) for ISG team to ensure we are meeting the strategic talent objectives.
Strong project management/execution
Consulting skills: Building a consulting relationship, assessing needs, testing hypotheses, designing & executing solutions
Data analytics - experience gaining insights using data and working closely with analytics experts
A broad understanding of talent management objectives and tactics
Comfort dealing with executives able to build relationships with them, speak openly with them.
Learning agility – eagerness to pick up all the things they don’t know about either ISG or content of the ODS role.
Aggregated cross-BU assessment of talent needs, strengths, deficits
ISG HR Talent strategy development (in context of P&O talent strategy with focus areas relevant to ISG)
Talent strategy execution (works closely with HRBPs)
Includes Exec HC forecasting and data management
Succession planning, potential calibration, OHRP contributions for ISG
Strategy execution consulting with HRBPs, leaders
ISG-level EOY performance management support including managing ISG Exec calibration process
Tell Dell for ISG (leads the in-depth analytics, prepares ISG-level overview deck; tracks or designs follow-up actions, HRBP support
Org design consulting (optional – not necessary if the ODS does not have the skillset)
Ad hoc performance, leadership, team building consulting;
ISG HR initiatives project/program management – ODS typically has one or more major initiatives in which they play either a key project management/execution role and/or thought leader role.
ODS serves as a liaison to P&O ODS and to T&C and other COEs.
Represents team on ODS council
