Dell is currently seeking an Executive Communications Senior Advisor to support the communications strategy and help to execute external/internal programs in support of the CFO.
This is a global role with 360-degree responsibilities to support and execute against the communications strategy, drive brand reputation programs, executive visibility and speakerships, team member communications and external thought leadership messaging and platforms. This role will be part of the Global Corporate Executive Communications team reporting to the head of the Executive Communications program
The successful candidate will have both internal and external communications experience, executive communications experience, strong writing skills, strategic planning ability, and broad knowledge of the technology industry overall to ensure that the company’s business strategy is well understood and supported by customers, partners, industry influencers and Dell team members
This role will be responsible for supporting and helping to drive communications plans and deliverables, partnering with organizations across the company to drive consistency in messaging. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of the communications strategy and content (and, in some cases, collaboratively with other functional leaders such as: Investor Relations, Corporate Strategy, Corporate & Executive Communications, Public Relations, Marketing and Analyst Relations) for the CFO’s communications vehicles and platforms, which may include keynotes, blogs, videos, media opportunities, analyst briefings, internal channels (such as team member brown-bags, roundtables, webcasts, newsletters, all-hands meetings) and social/digital platforms. This individual must be resourceful, strategic and a creative thinker and demonstrate subject matter expertise in engaging internal and external audiences around Finance and Corporate Strategy activities. S/he must show the ability to build and maintain relationships with influencers and connect them back to relationships within a complex organization. S/he should be seasoned in partnering with a communications agency, PR colleagues, and HR colleagues to drive business results, as well as change management needs
Responsible for working across the CFO organization to provide strategic counsel and support, developing plans to ensure communications initiatives are implemented effectively. Proactive execution and ability to influence and lead change are critical skills for success in this position. This individual should possess communications experience in employee communications, public relations, change management, developing executive speaking platforms and some event management. Previous experience and knowledge of overall industry of finance is helpful. Support overall Executive Communications for the CFO, and, by extension, the CFO organization
Develop both internal (team member) and external (PR/AR/Social/Digital) programs in support of the CFO’s platform, with a primary focus on internal communications, including internal imperatives such as corporate culture code, team member communications, cross-business initiatives and corporate strategy.
Support development of priority narratives/messaging to ensure effective internal/external storytelling
Work with other communications functions as necessary to develop and proactive and reactive integrated communications plans, including internal/external perspectives, speaking points and media statements
Experience identifying and measuring communications metrics
Clearly communicate Dell Technologies competitive positioning and value propositions
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field preferred
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 to 6 years of technology-related communications experience, and advanced business and finance knowledge and consulting skills is a plus
Excellence in planning and execution of internal and external communications strategy, programs and tactics, including knowledge in managing all aspects of special events and speakerships
Strong skills for writing, editing, speechwriting, presentation development, project management and problem-solving
Experience interacting at all levels of a company, including senior management
Strategic and technical understanding of blog platforms, video production, podcasts, social media and webcasts
Able to operate in matrix organizations and manage multiple projects concurrently; comfortable working with remote colleagues and stakeholders; experience working across disciplines and geographies
