Dell Test Senior Engineer in Round Rock, Texas
Summary of Duties: Responsible for the design and development activities associated with methods for validating hardware systems and broader solutions. Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and test tools, and complete validation specifications and procedures for new and changes to existing products. Plan the labor, schedule, equipment, and software required for validating and evaluating solutions. Use current product performance information and other means to gauge customer usage to the product development team. Develop and document test plans, and test cases for newly developed or current hardware and solutions products. Develop test tools and automation for use in testing. Create test plans that include resource requirements, schedules, assumptions and scope based on inputs from the Development and Marketing team. Prepare test strategies and comprehensive test plans for new hardware and solutions products. Interface with external validation partners to develop comprehensive test plans and test coverage across multiple organizations. Coordinate and report on test deliverables and test execution from validation partners.
Qualifications: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 1 or 3 years of related work experience respectively or equivalent related work experience.
Requires experience with: programming in Java; programming applications in at least two of the following: Java, Python, C/C++ or C#; administration with Windows and Linux; Linux (RHEL, SUSE, and Ubuntu); and storage protocols and technologies like NAS (Network Attached Storage), SAN (Storage Area Network), DAS (Direct Attached Storage), NFS, CIFS, TCP/IP, or Fibre Channel.
