Dell Principal Software Engineer in Saint Petersburg, Russia

What you’ll achieve

As a Principal Software Engineer you will participate in the back-end development of PowerSizer platform. PowerSizer is a web-based application for pre-sales engineers and partners that helps to find the best storage configuration based on the customers' requirements. It supports multiple products like PowerMax, PowerStore and PowerScale. This application is implemented with microservices architecture with bunch of common microservices and bunch of product specific ones. We mostly use Java and Spring. However, some microservices are implemented on Python and NodeJS.

You will:

  • Participate in analysing and clarifying requirements and contribute to implementation plans to deliver quality features

  • Contribute to development activities by implementing new features, enhancements and fixing defects

  • Perform code reviews, suggest design improvements

  • Participate in cross-geo communications between team members

  • Contribute into documentation for the team and share the knowledge with peers

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience

  • University Degree with a major in Computer Science or equivalent

  • Good knowledge of Java technologies: core, Spring, Hibernate/JPA

  • Message bus brokers experience, RabbitMQ in particular

  • Have experience of developing distributed systems of micro-services architectures

  • Understanding of agile software development principles and best practices

  • Good communication skills (intermediate English level)

Desirable Requirements

  • Having knowledge in Python
