Dell Senior Software Engineer, ISG-CEE team in Saint Petersburg, Russia
ISG-CEE team is looking for a hands-on, passionate, results-oriented, inventive software engineer to work in ISG-CEE team. Candidates should understand software development, have excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, be able to deliver quick fixes for hot issues, have excellent communication skill, and be eager to improve product quality and reliability.
The ISG-CEE team supports Customer Support handling customer issues by performing troubleshooting, inspection, bug fixing and patch delivery. On one hand CEE team works closely with Development team on the hot fixes, potential improvements and helps to define serviceability areas to focus on. On other hand, it interacts with Release Engineering on improving build and release experience. The team also is responsible to design and develop internal troubleshooting tools as well as implements field driven engineering work.

What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting infrastructure-level components of massively scalable cluster and working in a collaboration with unmatched subject matter experts in the field.
Troubleshoot customer issues, support Customer Support, deliver hot fixes
Participate in on-call rotations to support the product outside of business hours
Drive the software development process towards quality-centric methodologies
Design and build configurable and scalable tools to support software troubleshooting
Create and maintain troubleshooting documentation.

6+ years of relevant experience, strong sense of responsibility and ownership
Understanding of distributed systems and large scale software architectures.
Mandatory Knowledge of web services/REST APIs/object storage service APIs.
Knowledge of scripting languages (Unix shell, Python).
Experience with Linux and containers (Docker, CRIO, etc.).
Kubernetes knowledge (CKA/CKAD certification preferred).
Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and/or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) experience (preferred but not essential).
Understanding of open source contribution model
SDLC knowledge (design, planning, build, test, CI/CD, release)
Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues.
Some VMware vSphere knowledge.
Experience working on file system, storage system and distributed system is a plus
