Key Responsibilities

  • You will lead and manage a team of geo-distributed product managers focussed on growing the Data Protection Appliances portfolio (products include Data Domain and Integrated Data Protection Appliance)

  • Work closely with Sales, Partners, Channels, Engineering and other key stakeholders to develop multi-year product strategy and roadmap for Data Protection Appliances

  • Develop and maintain active relationships with key strategic customers, providing them visibility into the product direction and roadmap

  • Engage with corporate functions – such as corporate pricing, demand planning, strategic alliances – to manage and grow the Appliances business

  • Present product capabilities, competitive positioning and strategic direction in executive briefings, analyst briefings and key trade conferences

  • Be a subject matter expert in Data Protection, for internal and external product events, sales training and partner meetings

Essential Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience (product management in enterprise software and hardware industry) or equivalent combination of education and work experience; 7+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills or equivalent.

  • Experience with Data Protection, Storage, Disaster Recovery technologies

  • Must have strong understanding of the competitive landscape for Data Protection

  • Must have business acumen and ability to build business cases and measure success

  • Must have excellent communication skills – internal and external to Dell and at all levels of the organization

  • Must have good organization skills, including the ability to form cross-functional project teams effectively within Dell

Desirable Requirements

  • MBA and/or MS highly desired

  • Prior experience working with strategic partners, ISV or cloud players

  • Ability to understand technical concepts to assist engineers and product managers in making tradeoff decisions

  • Strong knowledge of pricing and promotion strategies
